I'm feeling compelled to get back to this page and offer up my musings, inspiration and enthusiasm. I've been thinking, meditating, questioning, praying, communing and otherwise engaged in my usual metaphysical mania for this past year. I've been thinking about love, meditating on trust, questioning about the future, praying about peace, communing about community, inquiring about insecurity, philosophizing on forgiveness, sitting with silence, stewing on success, steeping in strength (ah, I love alliteration so much, once I start I cannot stop!)
I want to use this blog to talk about being stuck, redefining success, claiming our birthrights and carrying forth our gifts into the world. I want to inspire you to stop bitching about why you can't get or stay motivated, stop complaining about why you're procrastinating, stop waiting for permission to move forward and most of all, stop beating yourself up for not being further along your Path than you are. I want to encourage you to figure out what does motivate you and use that as a tool to propell you forward.
I want to enthusiastically inspire you to Be the person and do the Thing you know you are MEANT FOR.
The world is kind of crazy right now. We can fall into such fear that we become immobilized. But, I've been talking to quite a lot of folks these past months and there is also a kind of excitement bubbling up. Last night, while talking to a friend, I heard myself say, "We're the chosen ones! We're here right now during the Changing Times! We need to stop being so fearful. We need to stop playing small. We need to awaken fully and wake everyone we can. Can you see us? Walking through the streets like they did in the old days, ringing a bell and shouting, 'It's time to WAKE UP!' We need to embrace beauty and wonder, laughter and sweetness. But, not only that, we need to embrace the depths of our sorrow, grief, confusion and pain. We're here. We were born into this because it's our responsiblity but also our birthright, our Charge and our Purpose to LIVE! And it doesn't have to be Hard Work. That doesn't mean it won't be difficult sometimes. But, it's exciting! It's amazing! Right now, we get to begin defining what we really want. How do we really want to live? How do we define community? What can we bring to it and what do we need from it? We get to define how and what energy exhanges we make. We get to define--not Wall Street or Madison Avenue or Turner Television or RCA Records--what we find beautiful, what the word 'success' means, what human worth really is."
The other day, a video was being linked to on facebook. It was a great video. Really inspirational. The gist of it was that we're here to be phenomenal. But, here's where it got wierd: The overt statement was that only 10% of the population on earth is made to be phenomenal. I have to call bullshit on that. We are, each and every single solitary one of us PHENOMENAL.
Think about it. Think about your own life. No, I don't mean later. I mean right now. What have you been through on this tour of the planet? Who have you loved? What have you created? Who have you brought solace to? What beauty have you drawn forth from the depths of your own mind, heart, hands? And what pain have you undergone? What crisis so terrible you thought you'd never see your way through? Think about it. You are amazing. We all are. Not some special 10%. Each and every Soul breathing on the planet right now--whether we agree with them or not--is The One. Me, you, your brother, my kid . . . we're all The One we've been waiting for.
It doesn't matter who you are, what your circumstances are, what you've undergone or what other people do or do not think of you. What matters is that we recgonize our worth. Human worth is not counted in dollars, the number on the scale, credit ratings, PSAT scores, your GPA, college degrees, professional titles or religious beleif. Human worth is counted in the quiet beating of the heart and the cycle of breath coming in and out of the body. You don't need anything else to be of value. You don't need anything else to be of service. You don't need to prove anything else to anyone to be amazing.
We're alive! We're not going anywhere! Our circumstances may or may not change. You may or may not have goals to reach. But every single one of us is Chosen. Every single one of us is quite literally Divine. Every single one of us was born into this world at this particular time in the evolution of the multiverse to bring forth gifts no one else is fit to deliver.
What's your Gift? You know what it is. Don't push it away. Don't say it's silly or impossible or outrageous. Don't ask "Who am I to think I can do that?" Instead, ask, "How am I going to do that?"
We're waiting for your Gift. Just as each of has a whole sack full of Gifts, we all need every one to bring theirs to the banquet. Wake up! The party is underway. Come as you are. But, bring a Gift! Do WHATEVER IT TAKES! |
